Adjectives

Adjectives are describing words. In Italian, adjectives usually follow the nouns they are describing. They also change their ending depending on whether they are describing a masculine or a feminine noun  and wheher it is a singular or plural. Most adjectives end in "o" in the masculine and this "o" changes to "a" in the feminine:

un vicino simpatico        a pleasant neighbor

una ragazza simpatica    a nice girl

Adjectives ending is "e" don't change in the feminine:

un bicchiere grande        a large glass

una casa grande             a large house

To make adjectives plural, you usually change the last letter to "i" in the masculine and to "e" in the feminine. Adjectives ending is "e" change to "i":

i vicini simpatici             pleasant neighbor

le ragazze simpatiche    pleasant girls

i bicchieri grandi       large glasses

le case grandi          large houses
